I've come to use the "F" word only recently. I think like many who love the language, it has to do with how prolific in our daily lives, it has become. There are movies and even TV programs (HBO) where if the "F" and "MF" were taken out, the dialogue would be reduced by 50% or more. When linguists study words, I'm told, they study how people use words, how they learn words, the history and evolution of words, types of relationships between words as well as how words were created. Sounds complicated for something as crude as the "F" word, but I do not know of anything or single word that conveys anger better than the "F" word. At least to me.
The two guys in the picture below are two of my GFs (girlfriends) as my wife calls them. They are better at using the "F" word than anybody I know. They have the "f__k" down and can weave it in and out of their language without it sounding crude or even the way it does when most of us use it. Both can say, "f__kkk" (elongated) with finesse. I wish I had this talent because it is what I feel. A friend who is fighting this insidious disease (cancer), "tooth and nail" as we say in NC and seems to be rewarded with one step forward and two backwards, deserves better. And, the only way for me to express my substantial anger and resignation is by saying, "F__kkkk!!!!!!!!"
